Who was Aaron Carter?

Aaron Carter was an actor, rapper, and singer known in the late 1990s when he grew his fanbase around the youths of his time. His brother is popular Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter.

At the age of nine, Carter launched his self-titled debut album, which went on to sell one million copies worldwide. Carter started performing at the age of seven. Three million copies of his second album Aaron’s Party (Come Get It) (2000) were sold in the country.

Shortly after the album’s release, Carter started performing on Nickelodeon and toured with the Backstreet Boys.

Carter released Another Earthquake! in 2002, which would be his final studio album for 16 years, and his 2003 Most Requested Hits compilation after that. His subsequent album, Oh Aaron, also achieved platinum status.

What is Aaron Carter’s Cause of Death?

According to reliable online news outlets, Aaron was found dead in the bathtub at his home in Lancaster, California. According to law authorities, Carter’s neighbor called 9-1-1 to report that a guy had drowned.

His cause of death is yet to be revealed.

Aaron Carter Parents

Aaron is the son of Jane Elizabeth (née Spaulding) and Robert Gene Carter. His father died in 2017. His family is originally from New York City.

Siblings

Aaron was the brother of backstreet boys member Nick Carter. He also had three sisters Angel (a model), B.J., and Leslie. Leslie who was also a well-known singer died in 2012. She was a member of The Other Half.

Aaron and his sibling were not on good terms. In 2019, his elder brother Nick had a restraining order against Aaron due to his alarming behavior.

He shared on his Twitter that;

“After careful consideration, my sister Angel and I regret that we were required to seek a restraining order against our brother Aaron today.

In light of Aaron’s increasingly alarming behavior and his recent confession that he harbors thoughts and intentions of killing my pregnant wife and unborn child, we were left with no choice but to take away every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family.”

Carter was in an off-and-on relationship with his longtime partner Melanie Martin. They got engaged on June 12, 2020, and briefly separated in 2021. They welcomed their son Prince in November 2021.

He later accused his siblings and ex-fiance of trying to put him in conservatorship in a Twitter rant saying;

“I have the most conniving deceiving family and Melanie has been lying to me the whole time communicating with my twin sister and the family members who tried to put me in prison and who tried to get a conservatorship on me in court.”

Aaron Carter’s Struggle with Drug Addiction

Aaron shared on his E! True Hollywood Story that he had an opioid addiction which made him go to rehab for the fifth time.  He said;

“Everybody thought, ‘Oh my god, he has AIDS, he’s a crackhead, he’s a methhead. That’s when I realized, OK, either you get your s–t together or you make the decision to slowly die.”

During an appearance on The Doctors in 2019, Aaron also opened up about his mental health struggle, sharing that he has “multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, acute anxiety” and that he is a “manic depressive.” He also revealed that he is prescribed Xanax, Seroquel, gabapentin, hydroxyzine, trazodone, and omeprazole.

“I decided to enroll myself in that program. This will be my fifth time in rehabilitation, mainly to take care of aftercare,” he said on social media. “There’s been no relapses. I haven’t had any relapses … it’s just triggers are big right now for me. You know, so, I just, I want my son back.”

He added, “It’s an abstinence program and I work with an individual counselor. I do group therapy, parenting classes, and domestic violence classes, I got myself certified in CPR, just a lot of different things. It’s new being a parent but it’s actually become really fun and exciting and given me a new chapter of my life. It’s been amazing.”
