Adam started working on KING 5 Weather in October 2020. His fascination in weather began while he was a young boy living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during the bitterly cold and snowy winters in the region.
As severe storms and tropical weather increased in frequency after he relocated to Montgomery, Alabama, his love for the weather grew. His passion led him to enroll at Florida State University where he graduated with a degree in meteorology in 2011.
Adam began his career in television as Chief Meteorologist at WBKB in Alpena, Michigan, where he won the Michigan Association of Broadcasters award for Best Weathercast. While there, he made more than his due proportion of winter weather predictions, which, to be absolutely honest, he found exhilarating.
He clearly remembers reporting on the brutal winter of 2013–2014, when Lake Huron almost completely froze over, and February 2015, which was the coldest month in Alpena’s recorded history. His next stop was at WCIA in Champaign, Illinois.
He learned a lot about covering severe weather there, including the greatest December tornado outbreak in Illinois history on December 1, 2018, which saw 29 tornadoes confirmed. What was even more amazing about that day was the absence of any fatalities related to any of those tornadoes.
