Alec Benjamin Music Career
Benjamin’s music career has been met with ups and downs. While he was a teenager, he would practice playing guitar using Youtube tutorials. By 16 years old, he began writing his own songs and also covering other famous songs and posting them on Youtube.
A year later, he began emailing record labels as well as playing outside concerts and parking lots to gain exposure. Years later, he was signed to Columbia Records but ended their contract a week later after he submitted his album.
Benjamin never lost hope and went on a self-funded tour in Europe to open for Marina Kaye in France and Lea in Germany. He began gaining fans who even sang his songs on America’s Got Talent. He released his mixtape Narrated For You which reached 127 on the US Billboard 200 in 2019.
Benjamin released his debut album These Two Windows in May 2020 which reached number 75 on the US Billboard 200. Since at this time was the high peak of Covid 19 with no shows and tours, he began promoting his album on his Youtube by sharing a back story of some of his songs.
His second album (Un)Commentary released on April 15, 2022, has also begun bringing in numbers. Benjamin is now signed under Elektra Records.
