Since she began her meteorology studies at Penn State University, she has always desired to forecast the weather in Washington, D.C. She landed her first job at CNET.
She developed a strong understanding of weather events such as lake effect snow while forecasting the weather there, which helped her secure her next position as a weekend meteorologist for WJET/WFXP in Erie, Pennsylvania.
During her first year at Erie, she recorded the second coldest winter. Her next stint was working the morning shift at Buffalo’s WIVB-WNLO. By this time, she had garnered enough experience for a top position.
