However, his most successful single to date was a remix of his song of 2019 called, Thotiana (featuring Cardi B and YG), which peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. His real name is Jonathan Jamall Poster.

Blueface Music Career as a Rapper

Jonathan began rapping in January 2017 under the alias Blueface Bleedem, a term referring to his ties to the School Yard Crips street gang. He released his first full-length project in June 2018 called Famous Cryp.

Jonathan released his second EP, Two Coccy, on SoundCloud and Spotify in September 2018, after the song and EP helped him build a local following in California. Blueface released a music video for his song “Respect My Cryppin'” on WorldstarHipHop’s YouTube channel on October 8, 2018, and the song quickly went viral on Twitter.

He signed to Cash Money Records’ West Coast affiliate Cash Money West in November 2018, and he posted clips of himself in the studio with Canadian rappers Drake and Quavo on his Instagram page.

Jonathan’s song “Thotiana” debuted at number 75 on the Billboard Hot 100 on January 26, 2019, paving way for his first Billboard chart entry. The song was released as a remix with YG with a music video. The following week, he released a remix with Cardi B, which coincided with another Cole Bennett video.

The two remixes are available separately on streaming services, but there is also a third version that combines all three versions. He released the music video for his single “Stop Cappin” on May 1, 2019, and it has received over 5 million views in the first four days on YouTube.

What happened to Blueface?

Jonathan is now charged with felony gun possession. The rising Los Angeles rapper has been accused of having a loaded, unregistered handgun in his possession.

According to The Blast, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office says Blueface’s charges stem from an incident in February.
