Bob presents live weather coverage as well as broadcasts from many Central Ohio events throughout the year. He was Columbus’ first 10 o’clock weathercaster on WB 53 Ten O’Clock News from 1994 until the newscast’s closure in 1997, prior to joining NBC4 on a full-time basis.

Prior to that, he worked as a fill-in weatherman for NBC4. Nunnally spent 14 years, starting in 1983, as Sunny 95’s (WSNY-FM) afternoon host.

Bob Nunnally illness

Bob Nunnally has been talking more on social media about his eight-month cancer battle. He shared a photo of himself having chemotherapy on Facebook in August 2022. He is seen in the picture donning his NBC4 cap with pride and a clear smile hidden under a face mask.

Bob posted a touching photo of himself and Rosie, his comfort dog, in a subsequent post. He tweeted about his healing process earlier this month while posing in front of his caregivers at the facility where he is receiving medication.

He spoke with Monica Day and Matt Barnes, two of his “NBC4 Today” colleagues, last month. The three discussed the forecaster’s life and treatment after being diagnosed with cancer.

During their conversation, he discussed his health since being diagnosed in January 2022 as well as his favorite Red, White & BOOM! moments. Coworker Matthew Herchik, who noted Bob’s health struggle and recovery by “Biking for Bob” in this year’s Pelotonia, was another source of support for Bob.

Additionally, Bob’s popularity with NBC4 fans may be seen in the fact that he won the top spot for 2022 as Columbus Monthly’s Best Weatherperson this year. He has worked with NBC4 for close to 25 years and is a cherished member of the network.
