Her co-hosts laughed awkwardly because they did not expect her to make her pregnancy announcement in that manner. Perino claimed that she was unaware that her pregnancy was still a secret while displaying evident discomfort. Later, Perino tweeted that everything was fine with Tarlov.

Brian was previously married to Canadian radio journalist Anne Lagacé Dowson. She ran for office in the 2015 election in the riding of Papineau, losing against Liberal leader Justin Trudeau.
