Originally a first-round submission (rear-naked choke) victory for Ortega, the result was changed to “No Contest” after he tested positive for drostanolone during a post-fight drug test. He was fined $2,500 and suspended for nine months as a result of his actions.

The fight, however, was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols. On April 2, 2021, it was announced that Alexander Volkanovski and Ortega will serve as coaches for The Ultimate Fighter 29 on ESPN+, which will feature bantamweight and middleweight contestants.
