Prior to joining National Review, York worked as an investigative reporter for The American Spectator and a news producer at CNN Headline News.
A few months before the 2020 presidential election, York published an article in the Washington Examiner in which he analyzed simulation results that suggested Joe Biden wouldn’t concede defeat.
According to the article, Biden would put pressure on Democratic governors to declare that Trump did not win in their states, and House Democrats would refuse to congratulate Trump on his victory. Additionally, he claimed that Trump would concede if he lost. In practice, though, the reverse happened.
Several Republican politicians, including those in the House of Representatives, refused to accept Biden’s victory and voted to invalidate what the voters decided, all while Trump lost the election, wouldn’t admit, and put pressure on Republican governors to do the same.
York condemned a speech made by former president George W. Bush in 2020 during the George Floyd demonstrations against racism and police brutality, in which Bush claimed it was “time for America to examine our tragic failures.” York called it “remarkable” how Bush “almost completely ignored riots, violence.”
