Her childhood journal had always been her fascination but she had no idea it was just the beginning. Her high school experience exposed her to a side of writing that she had not previously encountered in broadcast journalism. She went out to make her goals come true as a Crescent City girl with big ambitions.

She began her career at KALB-TV in Alexandria, Louisiana, as a weekday morning anchor, reporter, and co-producer.
