Who is Jentezen Franklin?

Jentezen is a pastor, author, and senior pastor at Free Chapel. He was born and raised in Wilson, North Carolina to his parents Billy Franklin and Katie Lancaster Franklin. His parents were religious and attended a catholic church.

Jentezen was raised alongside his siblings Doyle, Richie, Jennifer, and Jill. Sadly, his brother Richie passed away in 2012 December. As he was raised in a Christian household, Franklin upheld his faith and began preaching in his youth.

Franklin became a pastor at Free Chapel in 1989 after the church’s senior pastor Roy Wellborn died. He grew the church from a small congregation of 300 people to a megachurch with thousands of congregations and branches all over the Southern United States.
