Soon after graduating from college, Tomlin led worship at a number of Texas camps, including the Dawson McAllister Youth Conferences. He also participated in Bible study activities given by Choice Ministries’ founder Louie Giglio at the time he was still at Breakaway.
Tomlin and Giglio launched the Passion Conferences in 1997. He joined Sixstepsrecords, a section of Passion Conferences in 2000 not long after the project had been established. The following year, he released The Noise We Make, his debut album as a solo artist with the song “Forever” as its centerpiece.
Tomlin has had the number-one album on the Hot Christian Albums list six times. In 2013, his album, “Burning Lights” became the fourth contemporary Christian album to reach that position by topping the Billboard 200.
