Daniel Vogelbach Baseball Career

Vogelbach began his professional baseball career with the Arizona League Clubs. His professional debut came with the Arizona League Cubs. He batted.292 with one home run in 24 at-bats in six games.

Vogelbach began the 2012 season with the Arizona League Cubs before being promoted to the Boise Hawks throughout the season. He concluded the season with a slash line of.322/.410/.641 over 245 at-bats in 61 games, with 17 home runs and 62 runs batted in.

Vogelbach began the 2013 season with the Kane County Cougars before being promoted to the Daytona Cubs at the end of the season. He concluded the season with a slash line of.284/.375/.449 and 19 home runs in 483 at bats in 131 games.

Prior to the 2014 season, he shed more than 30 pounds (14 kg) to enhance his defense and avoid being labeled a “designated-hitter-only.” He batted.268 with the Daytona Cubs in 2014. After the season, he was added to the Cubs’ 40-man roster.

In 2015, he played for the Tennessee Smokies of the Class AA Southern League. Vogelbach began the 2016 season with the Class AAA Pacific Coast League’s Iowa Cubs (PCL).

The Cubs traded Vogelbach and Paul Blackburn to the Seattle Mariners on July 20, 2016, in exchange for Mike Montgomery and Jordan Pries.

After the Tacoma Rainiers were ousted from the PCL playoffs, the Mariners sent him to Tacoma and promoted him to the main leagues on September 12.

Toronto Blue Jays

Vogelbach was purchased by the Toronto Blue Jays for monetary considerations on August 23, 2020. He was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on September 1, 2020. He had only four hitless at-bats for the Blue Jays at the time of his demotion.

Vogelbach was claimed off waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers on September 3, 2020. Vogelbach slashed in 19 games with the 2020 Brewers. With four home runs, he hit 328/.418/.569. He was re-signed by the Brewers in 2021.

In 93 games during the 2021 season, he hit.219/.349/.381 with 9 home runs and 24 RBIs. Vogelbach was non-tendered by the Brewers on November 30, making him a free agent.

Pirates of Pittsburgh

Vogelbach signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates on March 15, 2022. He batted.228 with 12 home runs and 34 RBIs in 75 games with the Pirates.

The New York Mets

Vogelbach was dealt to the New York Mets for Colin Holderman on July 22, 2022. On July 24, he made his debut with the Mets, going 1-for-3 with a walk.
