Ian met his wife, Leah Rapoport in 2006 at The Grill in Starkville, Mississippi. Leah was enrolled in school, while Ian was covering football for the Jackson Clarion-Ledger. They started their friendship which blossomed into a romantic relationship.
Since then, they have remained friends throughout Ian’s career stops in Tuscaloosa, Boston, Dallas, and New York. The couple married in 2009 and on that day, Ian was dressed in a pink and white striped shirt along with a pair of bootcut jeans.
On the other hand, Leah wore a short white gown, and the odd wedding was presided over by an Elvis Presley impersonator. The couple renewed their wedding vows in July 2023.
Ian and his wife are proud parents of their two sons; Max and Jude. His wife, Leah, who must manage the parental duties of their two sons with a husband who is constantly on standby for work, finds herself with a tight schedule while Ian is touring practices around the country.
Despite his demanding career, Ian has not been able to get away from all their house duties. He washes the dishes, prepares the bed, and handles the laundry the latter of which he frequently multitasks, talking on the phone with informants or appearing on a radio show while folding clothes with his AirPods in his ears.
Whenever they eat dinner at their country club, a few miles away, it’s not rare for him to leave in the midst of the meal, go home so he can shoot a TV spot, and then return to supper.
When it comes to spending time together to keep their marriage intact, they try to cook or grill and/or prepare “fun cocktails” at least every single day.
