Who was Jerry Lee Lewis
Jerry Lee was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. He was known as the Killer and has been dubbed “rock n’ roll’s first great wild man and one of the 20th century’s most influential pianists.”
He dropped out of school to devote himself to music and joined Sun Studios in 1956 in Memphis. Prior to the release of his debut record, he was rumored to have performed with Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. Great Balls of Fire, his second single, was released in December 1957 and quickly rose to fame.
Cause of Death
Lewis experienced a mild stroke in Memphis on February 28. Although he was fully recovered, he had to postpone subsequent public appearances. He passed away at the age of 87 on the morning of October 28, 2022, at his home in DeSoto County, Mississippi. There was no immediate information about the cause of death.

Earlier Allegations of Jerry’s Passing
Several sources claimed on the 26th of October that Jerry had died. It turned out not to be the case and a statement was issued to confirm that he was still alive.
On Tuesday, October 25, 2022, his sister Linda Gail Lewis posted on Facebook: “Please pray for my dear brother. He’s going through a horrible time and needs our prayers and happy thoughts right now. Thank you so much.”
Jerry Lee Financial Problems
Lewis had property confiscated by the IRS in 1979 to cover a $274,000 tax liability. Among the items on the property were a collection of cars, a tractor, five motorcycles, jewelry, musical instruments, home entertainment gear, and weapons.
There was an auction in 1980, but just 150 prospective bidders attended. Less than one-third of the debt, or $91,382 was raised at the auction. He was exonerated of tax evasion in 1984.
The IRS, however, took possession of his ranch in Nesbit, Mississippi, the next year. Lewis petitioned for bankruptcy in 1988, claiming that he owed more than $3 million in debt, $2 million of which was owed to the IRS.
Who is Jerry Lee Lewis’ Wife?
Lewis was married seven times, including bigamous marriages and a marriage with his underage cousin. He had six children over the course of his marriages. In 1962, his son Steve Allen Lewis drowned in a swimming pool accident at age three, and in 1973, Jerry Lee Lewis Jr. died at the age of 19 when he overturned the Jeep he was driving. Lee had two children with his second wife namely Jerry Lee Lewis Jr. who was born in 1954 and Ronnie Guy Lewis who was born in 1956. Sadly, Lewis Jr. died at the age of 19 when he overturned the Jeep he was driving.
He had two other children in his third marriage namely Steve Allen Lewis (1959–1962) and Phoebe Allen Lewis who was born in 1963. He also had a daughter named Lori Lee Lewis with his fourth wife. His sixth is Jerry Lee Lewis III born in 1987 from his sixth and last marriage.
