Jim Sciutto CNN Personal Leave

Jim Sciutto missed the CNN Newsroom on October 6, 2022, for the second day in a row. Concerns emerged as a result of his absence from the network’s Newsroom roster, and he is apparently dealing with a “personal issue.”

Sciutto’s alleged “personal leave” is a result of a CNN probe on a serious “fall” he allegedly suffered earlier in 2022 while visiting Amsterdam. He suffered the injury while returning to the US from a reporting trip to Europe to cover the conflict in Ukraine.

After Sciutto missed three straight episodes of Newsroom and his most recent article was out on Monday, concerns about the experienced anchor started to surface.

His departure is a setback for the network, which has had a difficult year. In December of last year, the network dismissed Chris Cuomo, its evening star, for his involvement in the sexual harassment issue involving his brother Andrew.

Also, in February, Allison Gollust, the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, was fired because Jeff Zucker, the former president of CNN, had failed to reveal his intimate relationship with her.

In April, the network shut down CNN+, an estimated $300 million investment, after less than 10,000 users signed up for the service in a single month.

After four months, the network fired Brian Stelter in August, the same month that Reliable Sources, his weekly show, was canceled. Additionally, John Harwood, CNN’s White House correspondent, recently announced his departure from the network known.
