During the new year in school, he was made to sit next to Nick Nelson (played by Kit Connor), a year 11student and a rugby player at his school. He was very kind to him that he began having a crush on him but also feared he was a srtaight guy.
Nick later invited him to join the rugby team and offered to also teach him how to play. They slowly become close and Nick began questioning his sexuality. He even had to fight with his friends who are bullies for the sake of Charlie.
Nick ends up coming out as bisexual to his friends and mom played by Olivia Colman. The series has received positive reviews so far since its premier due to its diverse cast. Alice Oseman, the creator and writer of the show has also been praised for her wonderful storytelling prowess. Fans are so eager to know if there will be a season two of the series.
