Julie Chin KJRH

Julie, a native of New York, is known for her cool personality. She moved to the Sooner state because of its extreme weather patterns, and she spent over ten years tracking storms in Oklahoma as the weekday morning and lunchtime meteorologist for 2 News Oklahoma.

Julie took some time off to concentrate on her family and she is happy to be back at KJRH. She currently hosts and reports for 2 News Oklahoma Weekend Today, a program she holds dear to her heart.

In 2003, Julie was a member of the initial team that developed and introduced the weekend morning newscast. It was the only Saturday morning news available in Green Country at the time.

She has experience working as a producer, reporter, anchor, and meteorologist for TV stations all throughout the nation. She started her career at WCBS-investigative TV’s and consumer team in New York City.

Before moving to Tulsa for her job at KJRH, Julie had worked at WCTI, WXII, and WBOY. Julie is a committed member of the community who frequently emcees local events.

Julie Chin Health and Stroke Update

During a live broadcast on Saturday morning, Julie Chin said that she most certainly experienced “the beginnings of a stroke.”

As she was introducing the show for Tulsa’s NBC affiliate station KJRH, she started fumbling her words and eventually interrupted what was supposed to be a report on NASA’s Artemis launch to apologize to the audience and signaling meteorologist Anne Brown.

Julie said that her colleagues “recognized the emergency situation unfolding and called 911,” and she was subsequently hospitalized for a few days.

She raised awareness of the acronym BE FAST, which can be used to recognize the initial signs of a stroke. Balance, eyes, face, arms, speech, time, and a dreadful headache are represented by the letters.

They coincide with early stroke signs that are crucial to identify as a stroke’s diagnosis affects whether a patient receives successful therapy.
