Two years later, he joined WSFA 12 News as an anchor and reporter. Ken feels that reporting news gives them (journalists) the chance to be at the forefront of important and significant events that happen locally and globally.
One of his most memorable experiences was in his hometown, where he saw firsthand the tenacity and endurance of friends and neighbors in the wake of Hurricane Irene and the 2011 April tornado. In another incident, he was given the chance to go to northern Afghanistan in 2011 and the conflict in Iraq in 2003 and 2004 along with the Fort Bragg forces.
Ken viewed it as an honor and a privilege to share the experiences of the Fort Bragg soldiers stationed in Mosul, Iraq, and the troops waiting in Kuwait to travel to the front lines.
