Trippier joined Manchester City’s academy when he was nine years old. He worked hard to rise through the ranks until receiving his first professional contract in 2007. In the summer of 2010, he traveled to America with the first team as part of the preseason tour.
Fast Foward, Trippier agreed to join Premier League side Tottenham for an estimated £3.5 million on June 19, 2015. He went on to make 114 appearances across all competitions for the club. He left the club at the end of the 2018-19 season without winning any trophy.
