He began providing his hometown of Canton, Massachusetts with weather updates on Canton Cablevision when he was fourteen years old.
Because of his personal experience, he now inspires the next generation of young meteorologists by sharing his love of the weather with schools throughout the Tri-state.
In 1993, he started working as a meteorologist, providing forecasts for US and Canadian radio stations, utilities, and ski resorts through a private weather service.
Simultaneously, he provided award-winning on-air coverage during the historic “Blizzard of 1993” that struck Central New York while filling in for WSTM-TV in Syracuse, New York. Lee landed a full-time job at Syracuse’s WTVH-TV after receiving his diploma.
Goldberg replaced Sam Champion at WABC-TV in 2006 and made an appearance on Good Morning America on July 23, 1996. He has been active in community initiatives for many years.
One example of his commitment to community service is his enthusiastic support of the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, which he hosts each spring’s Walkathon in Riverside Park. Recently, he received recognition for his contributions to the charity.
He actively participates in the Central Park Conservancy and supports a number of initiatives aimed at safeguarding and maintaining the park.
