On the defunct NBC soap opera Santa Barbara (1992-1993), he portrayed Rich Landers and in November 2009, he played himself in two episodes of As the World Turns.

His first full-time job in journalism came right after switching from acting to broadcasting, and it was at WVIR in Charlottesville, Virginia.

He had been employed as a cameraman, but after three months, he got the opportunity to report in front of the camera, which cemented his decision to change careers.

Quinn is the chief weathercaster of CBS2 News at 5, 6, and 11 p.m. weekdays. Additionally, he anchors the national weather segment for “CBS Saturday Morning.” He worked at WTVJ in Miami, Florida for five years before moving on to WCBS-TV.

Quinn’s acting debut on “All My Children” on ABC launched his television career. That experience gave him confidence in front of cameras, which enabled him to excel in local and national television.

As time went by, he was given the duty to anchor the weekend weathercasts in addition to his full-time reporting responsibilities. Quinn reported stories in Charlottesville about the Thomas Jefferson/Sally Hemings issue and the well-known baby switch at the University of Virginia hospital.
