As the leader of the station’s VERIFY brand, she sought to distinguish fact from fiction when it came to significant political news and health stories during the coronavirus pandemic while she was employed there.
She worked as an anchor and reporter for WPXI, the NBC station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before moving to Little Rock. Her coverage of a local water crisis, social issues, domestic abuse, and the legal system earned her regional acclaim in Pittsburgh.
She spent her first term at THV11 prior to relocating to Pittsburgh, where she exposed out-of-date county rules and spurred policy reforms.
She also covered a variety of extreme weather incidents, including the EF-4 tornado that tore through the center of Arkansas in 2014 and traveled 44 miles. Marlisa was one of the first reporters on the scene, and her reporting helped the team cover the worst-hit areas.
She began her career in Abilene, Texas. She has had the chance to travel around the United States over the past ten years, and she has covered stories such as the shooting in Ferguson, the death of Michael Brown, and Columbia, South Carolina’s record flooding.
