Mark Nolan The Mark Nolan Show
Mark Nolan began his career in broadcasting by forecasting weather for WMJI. He later filled in for air shifts on WGAR and WMJI until officially joining the Majic morning program in 2014.
One of his most memorable stints was at WKYC Channel 3. He worked for Channel 3 for nearly 18 years, first as chief meteorologist and later as morning anchor, but he made the decision to let his contract lapse and pursue other opportunities.
Rita Andolsen, the news director of Channel 3, announced, “I can confirm that Mark is departing of his own free will.” “We shall miss Mark because we love him. He has made the decision to pursue other opportunities and he has our full support in whatever he decides to do.”
Nolan started working for Channel 3 in June 1994 as a part-time weather forecaster before switching to a full-time position in January 1997 for the weekend newscasts at 6 and 11 p.m.
He spent more than two years serving to the station’s weekday morning and noon newscasts before being advanced to head meteorologist for the 6, 7, and 11 p.m. newscasts.
The station’s 6 and 11 p.m. news team had a successful eight-year run beginning in 1999 along with sports anchor Jim Donovan, co-anchors Tim White and Romona Robinson. Donovan was the sole member of the crew still working for Channel 3 after his departure.
At the end of 2008, White left the station. Robinson left Channel 3 last month after talks for a new contract came to a standstill. Robinson had been the sole anchor for the 6 and 11 newscasts since White left.
