Barrie started his career as the station’s main Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers reporter at WJFW-TV in Wausau, Wisconsin (2001–2002). He previously worked as a sports host and reporter for KSWO-TV in Lawton, Oklahoma (2003–2005), where he broadcast live coverage of the BCS National Championship and Big 12 Championship games in 2003 and 2004.
He joined ESPN in March 2013. Fast forward, Barrie anchors the 12:00 ET daily edition of SportsCenter alongside Sage Steele. His responsibilities for ESPN were expanded in 2019 when he was chosen to work as the studio host for college football Saturdays.
