Max Kellerman Career As a Journalist
Kellerman’s first television appearance was as a teenager on ‘Max on Boxing’, a New York City public-access television cable TV program about professional boxing. The program was simple for the media, but it drew the attention of the boxing community, including a young Mike Tyson.
Tucker Carlson confirmed in 2005 that Kellerman will join his MSNBC show Tucker as a permanent contributor. Kellerman often took Carlson’s position in a segment titled “The Outsider” on the show. Carlson frequently introduced Kellerman with a bio that included a jokingly enthusiastic complement.
In March 2008, the show was suspended.On October 23, 2006, Max took over the 10 a.m. to noon program on WEPN . replacing ESPN’s nationally televised Colin Cowherd program. Kellerman added a third hour to the show in September 2007, bringing it to 1 p.m.
Brian Kenny, the host of ESPNEWS and SportsCenter, joined the show as a co-host two months later. The show was added to XM Radio on ESPN Xtra on February 4, 2008. Kenny left the radio show in the fall of 2008 to focus on his SportsCenter obligations, and the show was renamed The Max Kellerman Show.
