Who is Hideki Matsuyama’s Wife Mei Inui?

Hideki Matsuyama is married to his wife Mei Inui. However, little is known about Hideki’s wife as he keeps his personal life a secret. However, in  an interview, he was asked if he was married and he said;

“No one really asked me if I was married, so I didn’t have to answer that question. But I felt that after the PGA would be a good time because our baby is born and I thought that would be a good time to let everyone know.”

Hideki Matsuyama Golfing Career

Matsuyama made history by becoming the first male Japanese golfer to win a Major in 2021. A level-par final round was good enough for a one-shot victory at the Masters on a thrilling final day.

When he was four years old, his father introduced him to golf. With a score of 68-69-65-67=269), he won the 2010 Asian Amateur Championship. As a result, he was able to compete as an amateur in the 2011 Masters Tournament, making him the first Japanese amateur to do so.

Matsuyama was the leading amateur at the Masters and won the Silver Cup, which is awarded to the lowest scoring amateur. He was the only non-professional to make the cut.

A week after his victory, he tied for third place at the Japan Open Golf Championship, an event on the Japan Golf Tour.

Matsuyama won the gold medal at the 2011 World University Games in 2011. In the team event, he also led Japan to a gold medal. He also successfully defended his title at the Asian Amateur Championship in October 2011.

Matsuyama turned professional in April 2013 and won his second professional tournament on the Japan Golf Tour, the 2013 Tsuruya Open. He won his third Japan Golf Tour title five weeks later at the Diamond Cup Golf Tournament.

Matsuyama moved into the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking after finishing in the top ten at the 2013 US Open. In September, he won his fourth Japan Golf Tour event, the Fujisankei Classic. He would win his fifth Japan Golf Tour event, the Casio World Open, in December. Matsuyama became the first rookie to lead the Japan Tour’s money list with his victory.

He represented Japan in the 2019 Presidents Cup, which was held at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia in December. The United States team won 16–14. Matsuyama won his Sunday singles match against Tony Finau 2–1–1.

Matsuyama won the Sony Open in Hawaii on January 16, 2022, after overcoming a five-shot deficit on the back nine to force a playoff with Russell Henley. He won with an eagle on the first extra hole. It was his eighth PGA Tour victory, tying him with K. J. Choi for the most by an Asian-born player.
