Doyles began her career in 1990 as a cadet at WIN Television’s Canberra bureau, where she later became the weather presenter. She later joined Prime Television as a news anchor and general reporter in 1993.
She left Prime in 1995 and worked as a political reporter for the Seven Network (Prime’s affiliation partner at the time) in Canberra before transferring to Sydney, where she read the news at 11 a.m., covered the news, and read the afternoon updates.
Doyle was one of the original anchors of the breakfast television show Sunrise before it was canceled in 1999, recreated in 2000, and which she rejoined in 2002.
She stated on June 20, 2013, that she will be leaving her role as Sunrise co-host to take on a national job with the Seven Network. She gave her final broadcast on August 9, of the same year. Her farewell presentation was the highest-rated episode of the show that year.
Doyle took over as host of Seven News at 7 on August 12 and Seven Afternoon News on August 19. Doyle announced her departure from the Seven Network in August 2020, after 25 years with the network.
It was reported in July 2022 that Doyle would return to the Seven Network to host the revival of This is Your Life. The first episode aired on July 24, 2022, and featured Olympic swimmer Ian Thorpe.
