Nancy Loo News Nation
Loo got her first job on television at TVB Pearl, a Hong Kong-based English language station soon after completing her college studies. She traveled far to cover news in the Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand while also working as an anchor.
She was hired by WABC-TV, the ABC station group’s flagship, in 1994 as a general assignment reporter. Nancy had her own daily health news segment produced on-site for the early morning show. She collected medical reports for a week in London in the early weeks of 1996.
She was promoted by the station a few months later so that she could co-anchor the morning and midday newscasts. One of her most memorable instances on television was in March 1997 when she started feeling labor pain in the middle of a morning newscast.
Fortunately, she managed to complete the program and drove herself to a hospital in Westchester County, where she gave birth to her second child. That newscast received the Emmy for best morning newscast of that year.
She began working for WGN-TV as a primary reporter for the morning and lunchtime newscasts in Chicago, Illinois. Additionally, she fills in as an anchor for the weekend and lunchtime newscasts. She usually contributes to the afternoon and evening newscasts by covering special features.
Nancy is considered by social media users as a social media pioneer among journalists. She uploads videos, pictures, stories, comments, and questions on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms to encourage viewers to watch WGN newscasts.
