In 1991, Paula and Randy White, who were then married, started the Tampa Christian Center in Tampa, Florida. The church was struggling financially, and so could not manage to pay the Whites a wage for the first two years. As a result, the couple survived on government handouts and acts of generosity from others.
The church relocated thrice between 1991 and 1998 before settling on the piece of land at 2511 North Grady Avenue in Tampa and renaming itself Without Walls International Church.
The church then bought the neighboring property at 3860 West Columbus Drive in order to further expand its Tampa campus. The site purchased was a Canada Dry warehouse, which was refurbished and served as the church’s main sanctuary until September 2014.
