Phillip Schofield This Morning

Philip is currently a co-host of ITV’s This Morning (2002–present). This Morning unveiled a slew of new presenters on July 7, 2022, to take over while Holly and Philip take their customary summer break.

During the 2019 United Kingdom general election, Philip and Holly Willoughby were criticized for a “flirty” interview with then-Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Viewers criticized the co-hosts’ decision to take a “selfie” with the British lawmaker, citing a “lack of professionalism” and “obvious bias.” Viewers felt that the two were more critical of then-Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, who faced repeated calls to apologize for claims of antisemitism in the party.

Both Holly Willlougby and Phillip sparked controversy again on September 16, 2022, by allegedly ‘jumping the queue’ at Westminster Hall in order to gain faster and easier entrance to the lying in state ceremony for HM Queen Elizabeth II, who died on September 8, 2022.

The show’s producers, however, rejected the allegations, claiming that Willoughby and Schofield were there in their “professional position as accredited journalists to cover the event.”
