Piers Morgan is an English tv personality, writer, and journalist. He hosts the show Piers Morgan Uncensored since 25 April 2022. He has previously worked as a columnist and editor on publications such as The Sun, Daily Mirror, and New York Post.

Piers is also known for his outspoken character, which has sometimes gotten him in trouble. In March 2021, he criticized Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex after her interview with Oprah Winfrey disputing her remarks that she contemplated suicide while at the Royal Palace.

His remarks; “I don’t believe a word she says. […] I wouldn’t believe her if she read me a weather report.” on ITV’s morning show Good Morning Britain was met with backlash which forced him to live the show with immediate effect.

Piers Morgan Career

Piers began his journalism career in 1988 at The Sun as a writer. He then joined News of the World as an editor in January 1994 and later the Daily Mirror.

After working at Daily Mirror for over eight years, he was fired with immediate effect in May 2004 after refusing to apologize to Sly Bailey, then head of Trinity Mirror. He had authorized the publication of fake photographs even though the photos were verified to be fake.

After leaving Daily Mirror, Piers launched Fisrt News weekly paper publication targetting children from seven to fourteen years old. In September 2014, he became the editor at large for MailOnline.

Piers hosted his fisrt television show Morgan and Platell alongside Amanda Platell. The current affairs interview show saw Morgan interrogating guests from the left wing while Amanda from the right wing.

In 2006, Piers was a judge on America’s Got Talent alongside Brandy Norwood and David Hasselhoff on NBC. In 2007, he appeared as a celebrity contestant on Comic Relief Does The Apprentice to raise money for the BBC charity telethon Comic Relief.
