In the 1992 sequel, Honey, I Blew Up the Kid, and the 3D short film, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience!, he reprised his role. He is also known for his role in Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands as Kevin, Winona Ryder’s younger brother. He made a guest appearance as Mike Carlson on Friday the 13th: The Series two years later. In the same year, he starred in the television movie Ask Me Again as Young Nelson. In the same year, he was cast in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids as Nick Szalinski, the son of Rick Moranis’ character.
He was nominated for a Young Artist Award and a Saturn Award for his performance. In 1990, Oliveri played Danny Flocken in the pilot episode of The Flockens, a show about raising four boys with Miriam Flynn and Bruce McGill as the parents. The show was not picked up and was eventually cancelled.
