Scott made his Phillies debut in 2006, serving as the team’s pre- and post-game presenter and providing radio play-by-play during the middle innings. He worked in conjunction with Larry Andersen as the primary play-by-play announcer for Phillies radio broadcasts in 2007.

The pair received recognition at the Philadelphia A.I.R. (Achievement in Radio) Awards, taking home the trophy for the best live sports event coverage in both 2007 and 2008. They also won the 2017 Bill Campbell Award from the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association for outstanding local broadcasting.

Scott started his radio career hosting talk shows for Prime Sports Radio, a Dallas-based national all-sports radio network.

During his second stint with the Rangers, which lasted four years (2002-05), he worked as a full-time studio host for the pre-and postgame shows as well as a stand-in play-by-play announcer. For this work, he was honored with the 2003 Katie Award for Best Radio Play-by-Play Sportscast from the Press Club of Dallas.
