Sonia revealed on December 29, 2022, that she will be leaving WFAA. Dallas wasn’t meant to be a part of the plan, but she expressed gratitude for how it contributed to her journey. She said; “Seven years later, I realized it was time for a change.”
She continued by saying; “This will be my last week at WFAA. I’ve already made up my mind, and my management team has given the go-ahead for me to cast a larger net and follow my inner compass.”
“As a freelancer, I’ll continue to specialize in writing about health and wellness. I’ll also continue to host and emcee local events, teach in-person and online yoga and meditation courses, and organize corporate workshops and wellness retreats all over the world. I will reveal more in the upcoming days and weeks about some interesting new projects, alliances, and a podcast (!).”
Azad joined WFAA as Janet St. James’ health reporter successor in October 2015 after leaving abc13 KTRK earlier that March.
She said that working for WFAA was her “dream job,” but even at that time, she was a full-time yoga instructor who was also considering exploring life away from television.
