Tom Llamas is an American broadcast journalist for NBC. His final ABC show was aired on January 31, 2021, after which he moved to competitor NBC News.

He began working for NBC on May 3, 2021, as Senior National Correspondent and anchor for NBC News Now. He also hosts Top Story with Tom Llamas and fills in as a replacement anchor for Today and NBC Nightly News. Tom has received two Edward R. Murrow Awards and numerous Emmy Awards for his reporting.

He then relocated to NBC’s affiliate in Miami, Florida, WTVJ. Llamas relocated to New York in 2009 and began working as an anchor and reporter for WNBC and NBC News.

Llamas made history in 2008 when he joined the Coast Guard as an embedded TV reporter for an at-sea interception of human smuggling.

Go-fast boats were used to smuggle Cuban immigrants into the United States, and the Coast Guard is tasked with stopping them, according to the Emmy Award-winning story.
