Jason Whitlock’s Career As a Journalist
Whitlock joined Blaze Media in June 2021 and launched a new program called Fearless with Jason Whitlock. He joined Outkick and teamed up with Clay Travis’ official partner in June 2020. Travis made a statement about Whitlock’s departure in January 2021.
Whitlock replied right away with a tweet: “If I don’t say it, don’t believe anything that’s been written or said about me. Everything else is fake.”
He spoke with Front Office Sports a month later and said, among other things, “It was a horrible business arrangement, a byproduct of my failure to adequately vet my business partners.”
Whitlock had initially envisioned himself playing a significant role in the launch of the Fox Sports 1 sports television channel in August 2013, but he later realized that his writing would be affected as a result of his television work.
He made the decision to leave Fox Sports and take John Skipper’s offer to rejoin ESPN. Whitlock’s time working for ESPN came to an end in October 2015. 2016 saw the debut of Whitlock’s new Fox Sports 1 program, Speak for Yourself with Cowherd and Whitlock.
