Sean Owsley KHQ
Owsley began working at KHQ as an intern for the “Q-6 Sunrise” morning show while still a college student at Eastern Washington University. After he graduated, he was hired as a videotape editor on weekend nights. for $5 an hour.
A few months later, he was promoted to a photographer where he covered the B-52 crash at Fairchild in 1994. He was then promoted to a news producer and later became the fill-in sports anchor in the sports department.
He covered the Vancouver Winter Olympics and the Cougars’ journey to the Rose Bowl. Sean left KHQ and went to Knoxville, where he was hired as a morning anchor. He moved back to KHQ in 2002 as a fill-in anchor and reporter.
For over 30 years, he has worked at KHQ and has covered the Carlton Complex Fire in 2014 and the Central Washington fire. He has worked alongside his co-anchors Leslie Lowe and Kalae Chock.
