Dermot Mulroney is an American actor known for his drama, western, and romantic comedy films. He has won awards for his roles in Long Gone, Samantha, Where The Day Takes You, How to Make an American Quilt, and August: Osage County.
Mulroney started his acting career during his last year of college. He signed up for an audition in front of WMA agent Barbara Gale, who was impressed by his performance and offered him a contract. She asked him to move to Hollywood, and after three months of auditions, Mulroney secured the lead role in his debut movie, Sin of Innocence.
During his first decade of acting, he appeared in several drama films that dealt with heavy subject matter, including Daddy, Staying Together, Unconquered, Longtime Companion, Where the Day Takes You, Family Pictures, and Bastard out of Carolina. He also appeared in several Western films, such as Young Guns, Silent Tongue, The Last Outlaw, and Bad Girls.
