Who is Ana Kasparian?
Ana Kasparian is an American political commentator, media host, and journalist best known as the host of The Young Turks. She started as a stand-in producer for the online news program The Young Turks in 2007 and currently serves as the primary host and producer.
She initially expressed skepticism about her new workplace because she is Armenian, saying “The Young Turks is a strange name.” However, after working there for a while, she was informed that the word means rebels.
Ana suggests that although younger generations are getting involved with news, “they perceive network anchors as just people who read teleprompters.” She therefore thinks that the lack of teleprompters and the increased sincerity of people on the internet attracts young people to media.
With TYT having more YouTube subscribers than many other prominent news networks, including CNN, Kasparian and her co-host Uygur adopted a populist left branding approach that helped the platform become a profitable global online business.
Her primary role on another TYT Network program was host of The Point, a panel-style program featuring a weekly summary of news articles. These days, she serves as the weekly host of the Jacobin YouTube series Weekends, which Michael Brooks co-hosted until his untimely death in July 2020.
Ana Kasparian is a Native of California
Kasparian is 37 years old as of 2023. She was born on July 7, 1986, in Los Angeles, California, USA. She grew up in the Reseda neighborhood of Los Angeles but she didn’t interact with her peers because she only understood Armenian.
Ana enrolled in kindergarten still unable to speak an English word but she learned with time. She says that growing up at Sesame Street helped her to learn English quickly.
Ana stands at an average height of 5 feet 3 inches.
Ana Kasparian Husband
Kasparian married her husband, Christian Lopez on November 22, 2015. Christian is a minor league baseball player, actor, and model. It is not known whether or not the couple has children because she rarely talks about this matter.
Ana Kasparian Education
Kasparian received his diploma from Van Nuys, California’s Valley Alternative Magnet High School in 2004. Her next step was to enroll at California State University-Northridge, from where she eventually earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in 2007. Kasparian claimed that getting hired right away after graduating was a blessing.
She had no interest in working for CBS Radio, though, since she felt that the “robotic work environment” prevented her from saying what she wanted on air.
From covering subjects that were meaningful to her, and the nature of mainstream media, Ana was not compatible with that culture. As a “way out” of the media, she enrolled in a master’s program, which she completed in 2010 with a Master of Arts in Political Science.
What is Ana Kasparian’s Religion?
Kasparian is an atheist who advocates for progressive principles. She calls for reforms to the criminal justice system and has criticized for-profit and private prisons as “hideous institutions”.
