Meierotto Mountain Men is an American reality television series that premiered on May 31, 2012. The plot revolves around Eustace Conway as he hosts guests to whom he teaches essential outdoor survival techniques.
He also makes money by harvesting firewood while adopting traditional methods. Conway struggles to keep title of his land after it was threatened by a lien. Marty was a cast member from the first to the eighth season.
Marty left Wisconsin, where he was employed as a logger, and relocated to Alaska in 1985. He made his Smokejumper debut in Alaska in 1994 and began fighting wildfires in 1988.
He flew any mission that was required of him while he was a pilot. One particular flight that came to his memory was only intended to last an hour.

In one of the episodes of Mountain Men, Marty’s aircraft came dangerously close to crashing and killing him. He was stuck there the entire night without any of his essentials for survival.

Marty ended a 31-year career fighting wildland fires at BLM Alaska Fire Service as a hotshot, smokejumper, and pilot. On his last day, he took a flight out of Fairbanks to transport two firefighters to their new assignments.
He was welcomed by surprise upon his return to Fairbanks to mark his final day of flying missions with the BLM Alaska Fire Service. As soon as he arrived on the tarmac, about a hundred people came to greet him and expressed their congratulations on a job well done.
He will be remembered for his humorous remarks and voice as he supported remote firefighting operations while flying all around Alaska.
Marty wants to spend more time with his family in Alaska’s vast open areas in his retirement while also exploring his passion for trapping.
