Somara started her career as a weekend meteorologist in Savannah, GA before moving to Cleveland, OH to work as the morning meteorologist on Good Morning Cleveland! Her morning weathercast of a catastrophic plane accident in Akron earned her an EMMY at the station.
Theodore’s interest in weather originated from her childhood in cities with varying seasons, including Los Angeles, Atlanta, Honolulu, New York City, and Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
Throughout college, she worked with a NASA-funded research team at Penn State, examined data at NOAA’s Center for Atmospheric Science at Howard University, and took part in a field study in China.
She has also worked as an intern for WUSA CBS 9 in Washington, DC, WGCL CBS Atlanta, and The Weather Channel. She worked as a student meteorologist for Penn State’s Campus Weather Service while there.
