Who is Michael Barkann?
Michael Barkann is an American sportscaster. He works as a sports host, anchor, and reporter for NBC Sports Philadelphia. Whenever the team is in or near the playoffs, Mike serves as the host and is in charge of the Postgame Live shows for the Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers.
He started his career at NBC News in Washington, D.C. as a desk assistant. He then proceeded to New Jersey Network in Trenton, where he initially worked off-camera. A few months later, Barkann transferred to Philadelphia’s KYW-TV to work as a sports reporter.
After working for KYW-TV for five years, his contract was not extended; as a result, he moved to Boston to work as the sports director at WLVI-TV. He subsequently received “an extraordinary opportunity” and went back to Philadelphia, where he started his current job as a host/reporter at NBC Sports Philadelphia in 1997.
