Wojnarowski started his career as a high school senior for the Hartford Courant during semester breaks. He began writing for a few lesser publications after obtaining his college degree and he later joined the Fresno Bee as a columnist in 1995.

Adrian started working for Yahoo! Sports in 2007 on a full-time basis. He has been widely regarded by fans as one of the top NBA “scoopers” in that sector, particularly during the NBA draft when he predicted the picks and deals involving those picks on his Twitter account.

Despite this, Wojnarowski has come under fire from media critics for his reports on NBA player LeBron James. The critics claim that he showcased clear prejudice and relied heavily on unidentified sources for his reporting.

On July 1, 2017, right before the opening of NBA free agency, Wojnarowski switched from Yahoo! Sports to ESPN. He had already appeared on SportsCenter at midnight to make his ESPN debut.
