Desmond Fernandez is a multi-award-winning and Emmy-nominated investigative reporter, anchor, and television journalist. He has most recently served as a senior reporter and fill-in anchor at WFAA.
He started working at the station in June 2014 and has been there for 9 years. Desmond embarked on a quest to explore the entire D/FW Metroplex after arriving at WFAA.
He wanted to gain knowledge about society as a whole, meet and understand those he encountered, and learn about all the different communities.

Fernandez announced his departure from WFAA on June 17, 2023, where he served as an investigative reporter/fill-in anchor for 9 years. Viewers started to ask about his next move after hearing that he was leaving the station after nine years.
Meanwhile, Demond is yet to make an official statement about his new station, although numerous questions have been raised on his social media posts. One journalist wrote; “Oh wow!” Excellent work! So, what are your plans for the future?”
In response to that, Desmond said; “Hey there, we’re on our way to Detroit, Michigan!” As a result, it is obvious that Demond is currently relocating to Detroit.
