Hema Mullur is an American former broadcast journalist. She most recently served as the main news anchor for the weekday 5:00, 6:00, 6:30, and 10:00 p.m. newscasts at KEYE-TV.
She was also the lead spokesperson for the station in various community activities such as school supply drives and local chamber of business events. Hema also provided live field coverage for nationwide crisis stories such as the Austin bombings and Dallas police shootings.

Mullur married her husband, Bryan Ashton in October 2020. They are blessed with one child, a daughter named Veena Lakshmi. Veena was born on February 2, 2022. She posted on her Twitter account;

Hema began her broadcasting career in Midland, Texas, and later moved on to El Paso, Texas, and Denver, Colorado stations. She began working for CBS Austin KEYE in 2014.
She received the Lone Star Emmy in 2010 for contributing to a documentary about female pilots deployed in El Paso during World War II.
Hema was a nominee for Best Anchor in the 2018 Texas Associated Press Broadcasters contest and a Lone Star Emmy in 2017 and 2018 for the state of Texas.
Aside from her career, Hema is dedicated to serving the Austin community’s charities and non-profits. She is a member of the Austin Public Library Foundation’s board of directors as well as the Girl Scouts of Central Texas.
Hema previously spent the period from September 2011 to May 2014 working as an anchor and reporter at FOX 31 KDVR. She was hired as the 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. anchor for the weekend newscasts, but after only five months she was moved to Primary Anchor for the 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. newscasts Monday through Friday.
